Curving lines, formal structure, and an abundance of more informal and wilder spaces, creates a garden that seamlessly blends the modern and the natural world.

The client wanted a contemporary cottage garden that was in keeping within the rural vernacular of the setting.
The Setting
Set in the rolling farmland of the Weald of Kent, this garden merges into a large meadow, with meandering paths crisscrossing waving grasses and buttercups. Views are framed towards ancient oak trees, and the landscape beyond is borrowed into the garden.
The Planting
Traditional cottage-style planting, including Nepeta, Alchemilla, and Rosea are mixed with more contemporary planting, including ornamental grasses, Parrotia Persica. and Hylotelephium.
